Default 84 Corvette built dated

Hello,

I look at a 84 Corvette with auto the shift inddicator says PRND321, there no D in the square, plus the ***** for the ac look different from another 84 that I look at about a month ago.

The one I at today which I put some money down on it to hold it, say on the driver side door
01/83, could this be one of the first 84s to be built, from what I have read it was March of 83 when the first Vettes were built, so can anyone enlighting me on this matter.

Thank you

A January 83 build date? Damn. That's EARLY.

I have read of some of the wacky things that appeared on the early builds. Does it have any little metal tabs on the windscreen trim molding? They would be on the a-pillar.

I remember an article in Corvette Fever, or Vette, about an early 84, and it had some weird details.

Not sure about metal tabs, but I do like the car all expect for the interior color black, I which it was more like tan, or gray but anything but black. The seats are the sport seats, but are cloth instead of leather.

Sport seats weren't available in leather until the middle of the 1985 model year - I have never seen an explanation as to why...

Mine was built 7/83 #11243 of 51547 built, I was told by the original owner that when ordered blue leather and the Doug Nash tranny was not availible for production release. Who knows?
