L98 vs Friction
Craziest expierience of my life has to be about a month ago(i just red the lt1 vs jimmy and rememberd) after i finished installing and painting my brake callipers i was so excited to test drive it and see how my first big brake project went(im only 18 with trial by error expierience) and put the tires on and went.Heart pumping and all i drove down the street and braked FINE it all went well then went even faster and braked PERFECT i was so excited and went on my main road to show of my cool brakes to my friends when suddenly the front starts shaking so i stop and check it out and everything fine, so i decide to take it home to be on the safe side and it starts shaking again so i decide to go faster(Like i said im 18) and the shaking stops so i get to me street and while driving at 50 my front left tire falls off and crash comes the front end and the care does like 180 and stops to a crashing halt.......im at the point to almost cry(only drove it 3 times) and as i step out the car the tire i pined under the hood with the entire car frame scraped into the sement (hope i dont have to pay for the pavement) so i run hone into my garage pull out my floorjack and low and behold 5 lug nuts under it DUH so i jack up my car and everryything is fine i couldent believe it so i take m lugs throw them on and take my shakin a** home
wow that sucks. I had an experience similar, luckily the wheel didnt fall off. I had just lifted my old truck and was out offroading and heard some weird "whump whump" noise and it was all shakey. I pulled over and realized all my lug nuts were only finger tight and coming loose!
After that, I torque those things down TIGHT.
Glad your car is ok! Dropping it down like that can do some serious damage!

Not to be mean, but this reminds me of a joke by Ron White.
