What's the problem????
Today, while going down the Highway, I lost power for a second. Tach went to Zero, and service engine light came on. Last month this also happened . What is the problem?? '93 with auto.

I have a 93 with the 6 speed and experienced a similar thing. While cruising along at 70 mph the DIC lit up, the engine "felt" like it was dead, it quit running, and all the guages went flat. If I gave it more gas it would accelerate and continue to run. We had a tow truck carry us to the nearest Chevrolet dealer and they replaced the alternator. We left and got about 10 miles and the same problem happened. Back to the same Chevrolet service department. In going thru the wiring, there is a bolted buss connection that is directly behind the battery. There is a plastic cover over this connection. The nut holding these together had loosened enough to break continuity. It was finger loose. That connection was tightened. The dealer said no charge...I said put the original alternator back on, they balked, I insisted and they did. I got the original alternator (not a Autozone special) and have never had another problem.
Check that connection and be sure it is CLEAN and snug. Hopefully that will be the solution for your problem.
