Back from Funfest '06

I got up so early on Sat AM to travel there that I was too pooped out to go to the REO Speedwagon concert. Illinois is in a different time zone and I just could not stay up that late.
I was told they they put on a great show though.Highlights? They had about 40 Grand Sports parked out by MY Garage. I got to see an actual 89 ZR1 that Mike Yager has in his museum. I got to go to another Gordon Killebrew C4 class! I learned something new from him again! When GM makes parts for the the right side of their cars and also another part for the left side it is easy to tell which belongs on what side. How? The part numbers are the same except for the last digit. The right side ends with an even digit and the left side ends with an odd digit!
He also reemphasized to coat your weatherstripping with dialectric grease to keep it supple and to keep it from sticking. It also prolongs the life and helps it to seal better. And once again he told everyone the benefits of using the plastic headlight bulbs for your C4. They only weigh 9 oz and will prolong the life of your headlight gears and bushings.
My only complaints are that the parking area was quite dusty and the Corvette Forum parking area was right by the helicopter pad. They were giving chopper rides the entire time and it just made for more dust and lots of noise.
I took a bunch of pics. I should post a link to them buy not sure how. Any advice? I have about 80 pics that I can put on Photobucket buy not sure how to post the entire album. I know how to post individual shots.
Here are some I took of a couple of rather "different" C4s. The first is a n 89. I'm sure your comments will be "interesting". The second is of an 87 that was for sale for $30,000. I also expect some "interesting" comments on it too.

I got to hear them fire up one of the C5Rs and got to meet Will Cooksey. He let one of the folks there fire up a new '07 Z06 and rev it several times so we could hear the exhaust when it opens all the way up!

The parking definitely wasn't the best this year. It was set up totally different than in previous years. I hope they make some changes for next year.
I'm sure I will see you again next year.
To post a link to your 80 pics on your photobucket page, just copy/paste the entire web site address. It won't post them all but will give us a link to the page.
Take Care
Rik
