Default Blackouts

I've been trying to find pictures of blackouts on a c4 but can only come across blacked out c5/c6's. Anyone have any pictures of their c4 with blackouts?

Those look good. It seems like you still get pretty good light through them. How do those attach anyways?

i was thinking about blackouts on my '86 also but they are illegal where i live so i figured it mite be safer to just do the fronts and leave the rears off... i mean u get pulled over from the back right? well usually at least

Thanx

I bought the ones you can get from Ecklers or MAM.

However I didn't like how they said to install them or how they looked with that type of installation.

What I did was make a template of the turn signal/ fog light lense and took the blackout to a sign shop that could geta nice clean cut on the plastic. I had them cut the blackout to the same size of the lense and just velcro'd them to the lense.

I liked this look better 'cause it still kept the same body lines of the car.

Gary

Let me know if you need more help.

Sorry, don't mean to change the subject, but what do people think of louvers on the back lights? Too gaudy or good looking?

Always disliked louvers myself.

Not necessarily. I have had several pop off on very rough roads, never to be seen again. And they are on tight -- can't pull off by hand either. I keep some extras laying around -- looks like a $20/yr operating expense

Finally -- D.Rose where did you get your front blackouts? I have Eckler's front as well as rear. I like them OK, but yours look better to me.

I think I have asked this before but what is the least expensive place to buy blackouts for the front of my 95.

Thanks

I think the four red backlights are like a trademark, changing them (blackout or louvers) for me are 'not done'

A friend of mine has an '89 'vert (white) and he has the louvers on the rear.

They actually look good I think, and kinda' give the same effect as a blackout kit. Kinda' makes the tail light lense darker but you still get all the light out of the lense.

I'd say go for it.
