Default Flowmaster?

Without changing anything else, how will a set of flowmasters sound on my stock 96 lt1. Also, which ones should I get? on flowmasters website, the 40 series delta flow sound like a winner, but not sure. Thanks

They will sound good but they're loud when you get on it and they drone at low rpms 1200-1800 it will be louder inside the car than it is outside. You will need an X pipe to go with the 40 series and it will cut down on the resonance. They do sound good though even at an idle.

Ask Corvette Kid; he's had them on his car, as well as others, I believe. Matter of fact, there's a thread on it, see jesters first mod.

Good luck!

I've always thought they were a little on the loud side but the new Deltas are supposed to be quieter.

If you get the force II cat back system, they come with bolt on instructions and since yours is a '96 they tell you exactly where to put the O2 sensor. The system includes the 50 series mufflers (hoping it sounds like the Delta Flow sound clip)!

If you plan on picking up this system go through Ecklers! Their a supporting member and sell the system for $170 less than the flowmaster website

Good luck!

Default -update-

Took the plunge today and had a set of flowmaster 40 series mufflers with dual magnaflow tips installed. Worth every penny, sounds sweet under hard acceleration especailly outside the car. A little noisier inside, but not bad at all. Highly recommend.

I have them on my car w/ an H pipe, no cats. They sound great but, IMHO, the resonance is a bit.... annoying at times.
