Default overdrive and shift lights

WoW I finally got another vette (other one was a 67) this one is a 87 and boy have things changed! But a CORVETTE is still a CORVETTE. My light doesn't come on to say it's in overdrive, nor does the up-shift indicator light up., could it just be a wire or what. Thanks ahead of time, and I got that feelin back.

Congrats on the car:cheers:. Is your car a stick or an auto?

I know the stick will light up an upshift light when the rpms remain high for a long time but I don't remember them having an overdrive light.

The auto shouldn't light up at all. Hopefully someone will check in and clarify this for you (and me).

Thanks for the reply; yes the baby is a auto. The book says the lite for od should come on when in od(at least the way I read it) same for the up-shift if you are shifting manually. No BIG PROBLEM, just that like most vette oweners you want what's supposed to work to work properly. thanks

So it's not too bad to not have it. Many of us have non working accessories, we just won't admit it;).

I took out my ac condensor when installing my ram air:D. I haven't got the part in yet and it was ordered a long time ago. I ran the whole summer with no ac in Southern California. It's not too bad:D.
