Since returning from Funfest my car is running weird.
Whenever I slow down for a stop light, the idle drops down to about 500rpm for about 15-20 seconds then it jumps back up to a normal idle. This only seems to occur after the car has been under a load. If I just run the rpms up while sitting in the garage it returns to a normal idle.
Any suggestions where to start, before I go cleaning the throttle body and IAC pintle for nothing. Its a 94 M6
O.K. after cleaning the IAC and throttle body, no change, even a little worse. Will hardly run after sitting overnight. I have noticed that the volts drop way down when coming to a stop as described above. The colts will drop down as low as 12.8 on the readout and the slowly climb as the idle returns to normal. The volts hold at a steady 14.3 -14.5 whenever your cruising along and the car runs well. Its only when you slow down for a stop.
Could I have an alternator or a battery going bad? How much would a bad alternator affect the idle quality? I'm open for suggestions!
