you have the glass? Well, you will need inner and outer seals... the actual glass seal where it goes into the windshield frame. The outer seal is the one that wraps around the a-frame and over to the other side.
You MUST replace both seals. If you don't leaks and problems will arise. The outer seal is destroyed when the windsheild is removed.
I would suggest you let a pro change it... that's my opinion, tho...
See if there is a mobile glass guy in your area. Since you have the glass it should save you quite a bit. Get an estimate or see if he has access to the seals. Maybe you can buy them from him.
This would be one of those things I would let a glass pro handle.
Unless you've done it before! I usually try to take the seals off myself, because if they've been replaced before, you can usually save them if you take your time.
I checked with a glass company, they said they would have to get seals at a chevy dealer and it would be $375.00. So I call chevy dealer and they said the seals would be $209.00, so it looks like they were planning on making profit off the seals to me.
I'm going to get seals and check on someone else putting windshield in
Thanks
Be sure you're there when they replace it and DON'T let them remove your top to have better access while they do it.
A friend of my had his w/s frame torqued because the DOOFUS who did his took the top off, and two of them, after removing the seal got into the seats and pushed the w/s out with their feet.
Now that's the way GM used to have you do it on the old vehicles but definitely not on a vette.
For your sake, be sure the top stays in place. Good luck, Mon.

That's a new one, Ailer. I never heard of this before. Must be something you've either seen them do, or watched a windshield company. Interesting, very interesting.
