Default Battery tender

Battery tender. Where the heck do you mount one? Instructions say not to put it on top of battery. Only flat spot I found is up in the drivers side nose. Wires are too short to go to the battery. Could put in some butsplice and wire back to the battery. Any input?

I ran mine through the holes "gills" in the side of the battery compartment. I set the tender on a milk crate beside the car. Seems to work fine. This way it can easily be disconected if I want.

There was a thread about someone who ran wires from his battery through the gills, then connected his tender to those.

I just plug my Black and Decker version into the cigarette lighter. What could be easier than that?

I mounted my charger on the inner side of the battery (the side that faces the engine).

I run mine thru the space on the inner fender. I don't have it set up to just "plug in", but it works fine for me.

I had my 86 going through the gills on the side
On the 94 I just put it above the wipers on the windshield and make sure the hood doesnt hit it when I close it

When I put it inside the battery next to the engine in front of the brake booster I worried about the heat and I didnt like the way the hood flexed when I closed it and it hit the trickle charger

I laid mine on top of the driver's side front tire. Works fine. No problems.

So far so good, I've had one on for 2 weeks and the battery has stayed fully charged.

Some of us have the version that doesn't require mounting.
