bring home a hooker instead and when she gets all pissy at you reply with "okay well not that you are totally pissed about that you won't be as pissed at the ZR1"
She either means, "the car or me"
Or
She has concerns about the cost to own it.. Insurance, maintenance, gas, etc... (Which is not as much as most people think)
Either way, its a no-brainer
If you have the chance to get a zr1.. do it!
Even if it sits in your garage for a few years, It's an investment that will surely appreciate!

I know that it won't work but you could explain that it is cheaper than therapy and a lot less expensive than other hobbies/passions that are out there.
Maybe you could take one out for a test drive and let her get behind the wheel? That did not work for mine as she views cars as an expensive tool that get you from point A to point B.
Years ago I had my eye on a small cheap bike. Disscussed it with the wife, she said : You buy a cheap motorcycle be ready for an expensive divorce. Your wife said the same thing with slightly different words.
I should add the wife had been in a rather serious bike accident before I met her and had,and still does, have a real thing about bikes.
Sounds like an altimatem!! Either your wife or the car. Could be a tough decision..Good luck!!
Certainly sounds abit that way mate yeah, so go and buy the car then have someone else pick it up and drive it back to your place at their expence. Problem solved. If you cant afford to bring it home then something is wrong!!!!
Buy the car, there were not alot of them made and will go up in value as it is a colletable item. If your other half leaves ( she won't ), it will not be to hard to replace her driving a Corvette ZR1. Its not like they don't make them anymore, and from my understanding, they do no go up in value over time.
Look at it this way. You're always going to be pissing off the wife. Even when you're right you're wrong. You can't help but be yourself and if that pisses someone off, so be it. Even if you succumb to her every desire she is going to be pissed off because you cave in so easily. Just don't spend your house down payment money, juniors college fund or dip into your 401k. Marriage has a 50/50 chance of survival. Hope yours stays afloat. Something to remember; If she chooses divorce she'll probably get the house and car with it.
