what year did gm start putting airbags in corvettes??

I think the driver's side in 1990; definitely the passenger's side in 1994.

In 1990, when the new "****-pit" style interior was installed. Including the new steering wheel with SIR (Air Bag) in the center and horn buttons moved to the outside of the center ring.
