It's the little things
I purchased this 1995 Polo Green coupe about 1 1/2 years ago. It only had 61,000 miles on it, but the previous owners did not do a very good job of taking care of her. In the time since I have replaced a lot of the little things that tent to drive us crazy. When I got the car, it had a 91' 9.5" wheel on the front, I got a correct wheel from a forum member. Replaced the wornout BFGs with KUMHO ESTRAs, and replaced the factory plastic lug covers with stainless steel ones. Replaced the outside window seals and put on polymer doorhandel covers. Inside: Had the drivers side seat resewed and used some leather dye and softener to bring the color back, replaced the broken seatback latch bezels with new, a padded center councel lid and a new shift boot. Sent the Bose CD to Doctor Dons for a fix. In the process of fixing all of this I tighten scews and nuts and it is amazing how the squeeks and rattles disapeared. And of course the biggie is the strips. Most people like them. Now, it does'nt look like the other 5 Polo green ones in town. It has been autocrossed, drag raced, seen 145mph, been in a few carshows, and been my daily driver all summer. On a recent 1500 mile trip with the cruise set at 80mph it averaged 24.6 mph ( check my self and the computer was only of about 3/10s off. Needless to say this is a driver, but now gets a lot of TLC. Very nice story and great looking Vette. Some people like your previous owner just do not take car of their cars like we do.
Here's Mine Clean Too.

I reckon your wheels look great, suits the car very well. Some pics of mine below, ive always wondered what my car would look like with the standard factory finish still on the wheels....

My '95 was well cared for before I got it. I'm the third owner, got it with 57,000 miles on it, blew it up finally after 137,000 miles, but I had fun doing it.
The car has seen countless road trips, deep snow, mud, deep puddles, hurricanes you name it.
Looks good for a car it's age, will be back on the road soon, have to tie up a few loose ends on the engine swap.
All it need now are new seat covers, replace the passenger side fender which was damaged when I bought it, I bought new one, but need to paint it which is why it's taking so long.
Carpet is good, but at the point that no matter how much I try to clean it, it's never clean enough, so I'm replacing it.
Did a brake upgrade, new wheels, exhaust, harness bar, and SLP took it from me and hooked me up with a bunch of free stuff, that got the car in yet another magazine. I think that makes 4 magazine appearances, one calendar, and numerous internet stories(related to racing, and not counting here).
My '93 however is the complete opposite-items replaced:
rotors,pads,wheels,exhaust,rear axle,torque converter,complete interior swao to 1996. LTCC conversion,trans cooler,Big Mouth Air Dam.
What it still needs:
serious detailing, hood and front bumper realigned and I have two new front fenders(or gill panels) from a '95 for the updated look.
