As I stated above, mine was replaced this past week, it cost $225, and that included tax. The glass was LOF which is what came out of the car. If somebody is paying a $1000.00, they better be replacing all the weatherstripping, and channels because that's a ridiculous price.
The installers actually didn't mind me being there as I had removed the old weatherstrip, and channels for them, because I had new pieces coming so I needed to get all the old glue out. They also didn't mind not handling the glass top.
They were pretty cool about it, and explained what they were doing, but I also stayed out of their way, especially while the old glass was being removed. I wanted to get a good look at the frame as I have heard stories about these rotting out. Mine was extremely clean, and they commented on the fact that most of the time these cars had issues.
This is a big difference than watching over the installer like a hawk.
I'm in the business and an tell you right now for $125.00 there are very few pieces of glass I'd install.
Between advertising, rent, glues and primers, the part and a trained installer, I wouldn't touch a C4 for less than $300.00 and only if you are suppluing the wheaterstriping.
I have no idea how they are doing it for that price.
When I had my glass replaced last year I paid $225 I think and all the guy did was laid down the sealer and put the glass in the hole, thats it.I paid for the glass and to have the guy install it,I did everything else myself, how somebody is getting this done so cheap I dont know.

Going with whoever has the lowest price is not always the best idea. Not too long ago, I had to replace mine out of pocket since I had no full coverage on the vette. I went with the cheapest quote and bought my own weatherstrip. I ended up having to fix their mistakes.
Be sure the people you hire are not one of those mobile glass services that show up at your door in a van. These types like to do things in a mad hurry and move onto their next job, leaving you with a half *** job. The install looked fine, untill it rained. Not only did my wipers now get stuck under the hood, but they failed to seal between the frame and weatherstrip retainers. The water poured in at an alarming rate, and I could not use my F'n wipers becuase they used too much glue, causing the windshield to be higher than the stock one.
They offered to fix it for free, but their attitutie and that of their manager was so chity that I fixed it myself at home. I almost punched the manager in his face, before I left.
