Default corvette wave thoughts

I have had my 94 about a month now and have collected a few waves and have some thoughts.
1. Men are more likely to wave than women.
2. C6 owners are less likely to wave as has been noted before.

Any other additions to the list? I thought I had more, but I guess I am too tired right now to come up with more.

I am a female driver, If there is a chance I will wave, but somethimes DUH at night it is pointless...I also have dark tint on my windows, so somtimes it is mute anyhow, but the effert is not always.

I've noticed that C5 guys are slowly getting better at waving. I almost always get waves from C4 drivers.

I was driving home the other night.
(OK I've had the car a WEEK so bear with me)

Up front at the next lights what do I see, ANOTHER black C4. I tactically lane changed so we ended up with a bit of luck at the lights next to each other at the same time. He was on the phone so I had to wait a bit before he saw me grinning at him like a lunatic. I gave the thumbs up and he waved back.
Then we cruised all the way down La Cienega- this is a long section of 3-lane 55 speed limit which looks like freeway. We stayed at around 60 in lanes 2 and 3 - all the other cars stayed back (most cars normally do 65 here). Back into streets and 35 mph and he gets behind me and a C5 gets beside me and joins us! I am so busy admiring the C4 in my mirror, I dont notice for ages, but the C5 is staying right next to me.. I waved and he hit the gas and was gone.

I feel like I'm 12 years old again.. good stuff

Driving my 87' coupe around is just plain fun! It is a great feeling when I see other Corvettes on the road and they wave back as they pass. I have come across C2's, C3's, other C4's, C5's and C6's in my travels and I have to say that about 90% of the time I get a wave back. Some are just the passing flick of the wrist wave, and others are the enthusiastic full two hands over the windshield wave. I wave to every Corvette I see and when I don't get a wave back I figure the driver is just busy and they'll catch me on the next one.

Obsevation: Self concious people worry about it. Others are sick of hearing about it. Most don't even open these threads anymore.

Default Wave is Alive in NJ!

I moved up from a C3 (owned for 3.5 years) to my C4 and here in Central NJ I get waves back from most other Vette drivers. I actually got a wave back from a C1 driver on my way home from work yesterday afternoon.

I think it has more to do with the self important people on their cell phones making inane conversations, ("Hi it's me, I'm driving!"), than not waving for other reasons noted. Can't wave when you're holding a phone stuck to your ear. I wave all the time, if I get no response, who cares. I've had waves from C1's to C6's.

That's one way to look at it. Let me run this one by you and tell me what you think.
Here's a guy that would much rather be driving his Corvette than pretty much anything else in the world . But one thing is keeping him from being in that Corvette, WORK. He grabs his briefcase, crams a fistful of papers in it, sneaks out the back door and there it is, waiting......his Corvette. He jumps in, a smile on his face so big it couldn't be bigger if it were stretched between 2 clydsdales. Great day, favorite song on the radio. It don't get no better than this. All of a sudden the phone rings, he looks at the number.......THE BOSS !
in a panic he grabs for his briefcase hoping he has the info THE BOSS needs . Briefcase slips to the floor...can barely reach it.....Phone ringing louder than ever....radio still cranking.....Corvette goes by.....not enough hands for everything...AAAHHHHH!!!
He picks up the phone.....THE BOSS says....Hey! .....I here you don't wave at passing Corvettes.

That's because Florida has 50% of all corvettes ever made. How do you guys get so many vettes in that state? I could swear that Florida is a breeding ground for these cars.

Yep! Love it down here! I actually get more waves from C6 owners than C4 owners here and it seems 4 out of 5 C6 owners are now women in FL (maybe I'm just a sexy mo fo). C5's are hit and miss, but with the traffic it's kinda expected. I'd rather them pay attention to the road than wave.
