My 1996 is a daily driver and is driven over 50 miles a day, 7 days a week. I've owned it for a little over three years and have never had a problem with it. It has over 119,000 miles on the clock.
I have a 91 and have driven it 130 miles round trip everyday for the last 2 years. It has over 110K and all she requires is normal maintenance.
Seats arent the most comfortable
Fuel cost- 93 oct. here only
The sport seats in my '94 are quite comfortable. I drove mine over 3,000 miles this past March, all the way to Key West and back, and had no problems with seat comfort. The multiple adjustments (especially lumbar) offered by the sport seats make a big difference.
Octane requirement is 91 for a stock LT1, although in some areas, most stations don't sell 91. In that case, you can mix 89 and 93 in a 50/50 ratio, if you want to save some nickels.
Mine Also is a daily driver it does good for me love the speed and look of my car, It has 102k on the dial....And is still ticking very good no major problems for the most part
unless you're handicapped or teetering to the grave, try to find yourself a manual '95 or '96. much better control, you can wind up the rpms a bit higher on each shift, and the fun factor's to the moon compared to an auto.
If however you have an hour long morning commute that consists of stop & go driving between 5 & 25 mph an auto will leave you much happier.
My 95 is my year round dd. It's very reliable & dependable but it is expensive to maintain and because of the age of the car, you will be replacing components on a semi regular basis.
