DigiDash question
I have my speedo bezel off. And, the dash pad is out.
I'm thinking of pulling the digidash and doing a couple of things. I've read that CCoaster and others have tried changing colors. A search of old threads gave clues to it being done without much feedback. Also, a tech tip from batee suggests replacing all the bulbs AND sockets to cure intermittent light issues (which I've had).
Any comments on the difficultly of this process? I see 2 screws on the upper corners of the assembly. Any more to remove? I've pulled speedos before I'm not excited about what may be attached from the back. Do you have room to pull everything easily with damage to harnesses or the odo cable?
Finally, How did the color changes go? I saw one poster who put it back to stock colors! Doesn't sound that promising!
Anyone know of instructions/diagrams that show R&R? The batee site has some diagrams but not regarding r&r.
Getting the dash out of the car isn't bad. I seem to remember two hidden screws that are around the steering column. But if it doesn't pull easily, you don't have all the screws out. Besides screws, there is a wire harness on the right side of the cluster. Not a big deal at all.
After you have it out, thats when the hard part begins. Maybe email CCoaster and see if he says anything, I dont think he comes on the forum anymore.
I used a guide by Gordon Killebrew that was published in the Dec. 1999 Issue of Corvette Magazine; It used to be open to everyone on the internet, but for some reason the link is no longer any good.
I went to archive.org and found it; and am currently assembling a nice pdf for you.

Thanks! Hope it's different than the "batee" site.
Steve (aka JrRifleCoach):
I mentioned the batee site in my OP. It gives electrical diagrams -- but not r&r procedures!

I had mine all red at one time, then all blue at another time, but the bulbs fade eventually and it just looks stock now
Someone on here changed theirs completely out to Red/White/Blue bright colors. it looks AMAZING. I wished I kept the post/pics. I don't remember who it was.
Here is a link for instructions I used to pull mine. The're from the Corvette Parts Service Co. site.
You may want to just take a look, every little bit of information helps. Plus it has pictures. Good luck on your repair. http://www.corvettedashclusterservic...oprocess1.html
