Noticed the back light to the clock diplay area is burned out. Not such a big deal during the day but of course you can't read the Black LCD at night with out that orange glow behind the read-out. Has anybody replaced the light source, I am assuming it's something like a seed bulb? If so is the bulb in a socket or is it soldered to a circuit board? How hard is it to replace and can you find the bulb?

i've got the same problem with my 96...here's what Biggrizzly had to say about it (i still haven't found the thread he mentions though):
I think there is still a tech tip on the replacement of the bulbs. I did mine a couple of years ago and it is not a bad job if you are good with a soldering iron. I soldered micro-circuits by hand for years in the early eighties so it was just like going back home for me.
The lamps are available through Radio Shack and if you follow the instuctions in the tech tip you should be ok.
