Replacement Carpet Questions
1. When you purchase the replacement carpet kit, does it come with a completely new door sill panel and speaker cover already carpeted? Or do you have to scrape/peal the old carpet off the plastic sill panel and speaker cover and glue the new carpet to your plastic sill panels?
2. Same question for the plastic peices and carpet that fits allong the side of the Transmission Tunnel. ??
3. When you buy the new replacement carpeting, does it come with two holes cut in the rear wheel well peices? A hole for the 6x9 speaker AND a hole in the carpet under the little vent in the speaker cover that sits just forward of the 6x9 speaker? Because I do not want this extra hole in my new carpet.
4. And lastly, where is the best place/deals on complete replacement carpeting kits.
My tan carpeting is not in too bad of shape... a little worn, but not bad concidering the age. But since I have it all torn up for stereo replacement, I was thiking of replacing it all. I want to do a color change from tan to black on my '95.
Thanks!!

1. The old carpet had to be removed and new carpet glued. This is somewhat messy, but can be done.
2. The trannie parts were not glued. The edges of the carpet were finished.
3. The rear carpet was received intact and did not have the holes pre cut. I had to cut these myself.
4. I got mine from Willcox (they are a supporting vendor) and I ordered the mass back, which costs more. These are the best prices I could find. Link to Willcox: http://www.willcoxcorvette.com/

1) the carpet kits comes with the carpet pieces that fit the bottom of the door panels. you will have to remove the old carpet, clean off any old adhesive, and install the new carpet.
2) same with the transmission tunnel.
3) the rear wheel well pieces have cutouts for the speakers, but dont have the sections cut out for those vents. i think those vents are for later c4's - ???
4) for some of the best prices on carpet, try Willcox (forum vendor) on ebay. he sells ACC carpet, and ACC is probably some of the better replacement sets available. do an ebay thing or call him direct. you want mass-backed and expect to pay around $425 delivered.
my Willcox/ACC set is very good. i had a slight problem with the cargo mat being a little too short, but i did a work-around and everything is working out okay. my installation seems to be taking forever, partially because i kinda ****, and i added a sound deadening mat to the interior surfaces. you'd never think something as thin as .080 would cause so many problems - but, nothing i cant overcome.
