Alright so my drivers tire is wearing on the outside of the tire so I need an alignment right. So I bring the car in to get the alignment done and they call me and tell me I cannot get one done because the car is too low and will not drive up the alignment ramp to get on the platform. Any Central Massachusetts people out there that can give me the address of a good alignment shop in the Worcester area.
Damn that sucks. All the alignment shops around here have 2x6's for lowered cars (been dealing with this for years with my lowered truck). Atleast they told you they couldn't do it instead of trying and scraping up the car. Good luck on finding another shop...
Sounds like an out of date shop to me. I work at a Cadillac dealer and got my 93 aligned there. all new caddy's are 4 wheel ind. sus. They should absolutely know what they are doing. It should be around $130, if if they tell you more check around.
Because I autoX I want someone that understands camber and toe - I found that dealers and bigger places, like the tire chains almost always want to do Chevy specs instead of the specs from here.
I like Acton Brake and Alignment - just a small shop - and a guy who likes what he does for work. He's honest and easy to spend an hour with then leave with a straight car. Might be a 1/2 hour from you.
He'll probably use some boards to get it on the alignment lift if it's too low - look him up - it's worth the call.
Impala, my man, make sure you put this in the "regional" section, too. You'll probably get more responses if only because the C5s and 6s are even lower than the C4. Good luck with it and I tend to agree that the shop must have out of date equipment.
But even here, I have to look for shops with good equipment---it is not a given that all shops have the best stuff. Especially since the best stuff can cost tens of thousands and some shops like to (or have to) cheap out on equipment.
Their alignment rack was brand new i saw the thing it practicly had the price tag still on it however i am sure there are different models you can get and it probably isnt the most expensive one.

Yep, you are right. Just as an example, there are $10K alignment machines and ones costing multiples of that number. But, to some extent, it really does depend on the "human factor", meaning a good and knowledgeable technician can do an awful lot of things even with either old, or new but basic equipment. Even today.
