switch on under hood lights
I have been thinking of putting a manual switch on my under hood lights. It would be pretty easy and it would allow me to keep my hood open for long periods of time without unplugging the lights. Has anyone else already done this? If so, what kind of switch did you use and where did you put it?
I think I'll put it on the passenger side about where the headlight bracket is. That seems to be the easiest and convienent spot.

Gordon Killabrew sells such a kit for $20 with instructions and I just bought this kit. However, I have not had time to install it and it appears to be very simple. I think it could be done without a kit. Here is his web site if you are interested in the kit: http://www.gordonkillebrew.com/
Look at the "products" section.

You can always just unplug the fuse that is in the fuse holder next to the vac canister. Leave the fuse inside the holder so that you can plug it back in if you want the lights to work.

Jerris, I like your idea. I didn't even know there was a fuse there. Mine was attached to the LH side marker light. I don't like to cut into factory wiring if I don't need to. Gary

You can keep the fuse in its holder- just move it over one slot - this is how the previous owner was driving around in mine. It's not as visible as a groovy switch tho..

I mounted mine next to the lights.
Just had to drill two holes.
