The corvette pickup is real. The owner of Bayliner did build it at a cost of $135K. It is now parked across the street from me at a neighbors. The front is a 1984, the rear is a 1992. Tailgate does work.
Not only that, Chevrolet has been in contact with the current owner about purchasing it.
