LT5=LT1x(400/300)^.5 = LT1x1.1547 or put another way, the LT5 is about 15% faster than the LT1 against the wind
LT5 = LT4x(400/355-average for LT4) = LT4x1.0615 or put another way, the LT5 is about 6% faster that the LT4 against the wind

But the ZR-1 is not quicker than a heads/cam LT1 in the 1/4, or any acceleration contest below 150mph. The ZR-1 weighs more and it's easy to get 400+ HP from any mild upgrade to an LTx.
The LT5 design lives on as the Cadillac Northstar engine.
I suppose it depends on your definition of "easy".
If simply writing a nice, fat check is "easy", then, yes, I suppose it is.

Well, I don't have the skill or tools to port my heads myself,.... but that check was only $4500. To a speed shop that builds race engines, not to a big name Vette tuner.
Another 2 grand for headers, cats, and custom exhaust. I did wrench the headers and a few other things.
For a fact the Hotcam with pocket ported LT1 heads is enough to pull on a ZR-1.
But my car will never have the WOW factor or high value of a ZR-1.

But... you're able to drive and enjoy your LT1 and not have to worry about accident repair, long discontinued parts, etc. that a lot of the ZR1 guys have to worry about. But yes...the "King" is still that, IMO.
