Anyone have a good tip on how to stop the sunglare reflection on the windshield that is coming from reflection off the dash top panel? I already know I do not want a carpet on top of my dash, but the reflection can make it very difficult at times. If it matters mine is black in and out and a 95 coupe.

Here is a lesson to those contemplating changing the color of their dash. DON'T! I dyed my 87's to match the saddle interior. It looked great but the sun reflected off the dash into the windshield something fierce! I also made the mistake of not properly cleaning it before I dyed it and the dye/paint started to peel off. Not much sticks to a surface that has been Armoralled.
Luckily Vette2Vette had a good used one in stock and I was able to replace it.
Maybe yours has been Armoralled too many times and it is now shiny. Try to clean the stuff off or repaint it in a flat black color. The factory flat finish should not cause much of a reflection problem.
Good luck!
any idea if they can take some frames from me and put in polarized lenses? price? or is it worth it just to buy all new shades?
Aminnich and Shawn, yes! To polarized sunglasses. I've driven only with polarized forever and it is the only way to go, take my word for it.
But I don't wear prescription glasses so can't coment with knowledge on the price of lens swap out. I'd think it really depends on where you go to get it done such as a Pearle, Walmart or even Costco. It can be inexpensive.
As an aside, I'm pretty careful with my polarized sunglasses but have real difficulty keeping the plastic ones from scratching, even the harder, polycarbonate ones. Glass is heavier tho. You can find glass ones at Costco for 20 under 100 and 20 over. Good ones, too. I bought a pair there. You can also find plastic, too.
Don't forget for slightly better plastic ones to go to actual sporting goods stores such as Dicks, REI, etc.
What I found out when I got my new windshield is that it had less glare than the old one. I think (this is not a scientific study) the more mileage the glass has, or the more it has been sand-blasted by road debris, the more glare you will get. I know have about 50,000 miles on my "new" windshield and I'm getting more glare at certain angles. I drive the Washington D.C. Beltway almost daily with my car and it gets blasted with a plethora of high speed debris, including Starbuck cups, paperbags, cigarette butts and celophane wrapers, stones, bricks, tire treads, deer, Street Rappers, anything else you want to throw into the mix.
So is my theory half-correct? how pitted is your glass? just curious.
