I recently purchased a 1986 Pace Car that was raffled off at the 1986 Indy 500. If anyone out there can help me out on where to find further information, or who I need to email to verify the car's information
please let me know! The car was purchased from a party in Arizona, so some of you may know them. Any help would be appreciated!

Mike Antonick quotes a Chevrolet press release in his Cor-vette Specs C4 book. "Except for its specially fabricated light bar and strobed driving, brake and cornering lamps, the Corvette roadster pace car is identical to the showroonm model.
So it sounds like there was only 1 true pace car. If you have the one with the light bar then it is rare indeed.
He also quotes the same press release, "Although a Corvette convertible will pace the race, some 150 vehicles from across Chevrolet's 10 car and 11 truck lines will have official duties in connection with the 70th running of the Indianapolis 500."
He does not say anything about the one that was raffled off though.

ALL 1986 Corvette convertibles sold were designated "Pace Cars". They all came with the Pace Car badge and I believe the exterior "Pace Car" decals were included automatically. Most of them did not wear the decals unless the Dealer or first owner put them on the car.
Usually the Indy 500 has from 11~21 "Official Pace Cars" at the track each year which are used by VIPs. The Actual car that is used to pace the race is usually given to the race winner with the other cars sold off by the local Chevy dealeship and other dealerships that have requested one.
CarFax probably is a good place to start for your research. You can order the Factory Build Sheet and a copy of the Original Window Sticker from the Corvette Museum.
