I've got a squeaky serpentine belt on the '93 that won't seem to go away. I've used almost a whole can of 'Prestone Belt Dressing' over the last few weeks and it works right after I spray the belt down while it's running. But once I get where I'm going, and the car sits for a few hours and starts back up, the squeak is back.
Maybe I'm supposed to use the entire can all at once on the belt to really soak it good? But that seems kinda overkill.
Anybody have any suggestions on anything else to stop the squeaky belt? aside from having it replaced? or is that what I'll need to do?

What brand of belt is it, and how old. For whatever reason, I have no luck with aftermarket belts on GM vehicles, but when I put an AC/Delco on, the noise is gone.
I just replaced the belt on my 2004 Colorado that was making noise, and the sound is gone. It is to bad, because the belts aren't cracked, so I just keep them as a spare.

Might be because of the brand, some brands are very, very slightly smaller or larger than others. Also Check your belt and belt tensioner for wear/slippage signs. The tensioner has 2 marks on it and the tension indicator should be between those marks (if i remember correctly).
Adam, Is your 93 an early serial number with the double sided belt? The reason I ask is that I've had the same problem with my 92 since I got it.
In some repair invoices I got with the car, a tech noted a service bulletin about belt noise but I haven't been able to find it.
Just went through the same thing after a hard hard rain here. The belt would squeal, hit it belt dressing and it would go away till I parked the car for any lenth of time and it'd come right back. Replaced the belt, no more squeal.
I would just replace the belt. It's a pretty easy fix and you can stash the old one in your storage bin for a spare. You should be fine with any brand name like Gates, Dayco or Goodyear.
The top/flat part of most K belts runs under a couple pulleys which glazes them faster than the ribbed side. If the top of the belt looks real shiny, that's another clue. If you're still getting squeaks try some steel wool on your pulleys - assuming the belt's tightened properly and nothing is out of alignment.

Iam inclining towards tensioner, iam going through same problem right now, change the belt with Ac/Delco and change with napa belt too, still same squeaky sound infact i get all the time, and when i climbing hill when some load on engine it squeaks real bad, that freaking squeaky noise is sometimes annoy and sometimes embrasses too. Mine smog pump pulley is little misalignment though. So check ur's.
