This car has been sitting in a business complex on my route for 9 day, in the same spot has not moved. I deliver Fed-Ex in here everyday. I have asked everyone (tenants) if they new anything about it or who owns it no one knows. It's in pretty good condition, it's a six speed with tan/black interior. I live three miles from it. I've checked on it from time to time. Late Late night. early Sunday morning. and she's still there. The steering column is not busted up or anything. I wonder if its stolen. Should I report it as a suspicious car? Can't hurt right.

It's your call, but one thing I noticed is that it is sure parked close to those bushes like who ever put it there wants to make sure the passenger side doesn't get dinged. Just my thoughts. My father leaves his car in a public parking lot sometimes weeks in a row, though it is not a Vette.
I thouth that also. Whoever got out of it had to get out the pass side, for the fact that it is so close to the curb/shrubs.
Maybe when they stole it, they went for a joy ride, then parked close to the bushes so they could just roll out of the car, and not be seen.....not that I would know about these things
Its pretty odd. The way its parked - backed in, corner spot, clearly away from where it can be dinged. To me it looks like someone who planned on parking their vette for, I dunno, 9 days.
Stolen or not, I think you should put a cover on it. Its not the Vette's fault its got a wierd owner.
Could be somebody had to take a quick business trip, or maybe became ill and went to a hospital.
Maybe the owner found two women that could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch and they all headed to Vegas.....
It couldn't hurt to call the local PD and let them know the car has been there for that long without moving. Being out in the open, it could easily get vandalized or stolen.
I park like that when I have the opportunity. It does allow for extra room on the pasenger side but there are still idiots who will park a foot away. It really isn't a big deal to get out from the driver's side as long as you are careful.
This is a tough one. We had a truck left in our parking lot for two weeks. The facility manager finally reported it to the police and they came out and wrote up a report. The day after the truck was towed the owner showed up looking for it. He said his sister had gotten sick and he'd gone out of town to help her. Now his truck is gone with all his tools, etc. Why he left it in our lot is unknown. What we found out was he was actually an alcoholic and probably a crack addict who may have been on a bender. Somehow he found out or guessed the facility manager reported his truck and he started breaking windows and doors around our building. Dummy didn't know it but the survellience cameras caught all the action and he was picked up.
Bottom line is you want to do the right thing but sometimes the outcome is unpleasant. If it is not a public parking lot maybe you should contact the property owners if the owner can't be located.

A business complex is private property.
If the business owner isn't worried about it, I wouldn't be either.
Unless you actually WANT the car.....then, you might report an apparently abandoned vehicle to the local constabulary.
You could look at it this way, too: My Corvette sits for WEEKS in my driveway (private property). If any of my neighbors called the cops and said it is apparently abandoned, well....you can imagine what would come of that!!
I wouldn't report it. If you do report it then the cops will have it towed and it will end up in an impound yard which will increase the odds that it will get broken into. At least that's the way it is around here.
It probably belongs to someone who works at the Business park. Could be any number of reasons.......maybe they could not park it at there house for a time...some towns don't allow overnight street parking.
It is strange though...and a huge insult to the Corvette community. They are probably the type who knows "NOT" what the Wave symbolizes....
I mean if you are forced..forced to leave a Corvette out in the open ...vulnerable.....especially Yellow...c'mon.....may as well just hang a sign...."here I am...Steal me!!!" I don't know .....wouldnt you...if you had any respect at all for the Corvette.....at the very least spring for a Cover???? Oh wait thats right...my mistake ...that may draw attention to it and someone might steal or otherwise damage it.
BTW as far as the idea of parking really close to those bushes......I'll give them an A+ in the consideration department...for not parking on an angle...that really burns my ***!!! Hey keep us posted on this OK..... maybe you'll run into the owner.......I'm just dying ....dying to hear their excuse!!!!! If you do run into the owner...invite them over to the Forum....Im sure we would all love to have a word.....
