How cold are you talking about, and how does it "sound different"?

Air density increases as the temperature drops so theoretically the car should run better because there's more oxygen in a given volume of cold air than there is at highr temps.

Default Cold Air Good...

My LT4 runs like a "scalded dog" in cold weather - no AC drag and dense air.

Mine runs different as well...faster to be exact!...when we drop to 60 degrees I can really feel it...on the rare occasion it hits 50, watch out!...I raced in an event down here last Feb. and it was 56 degrees...my car went 3/10's faster in the 1/4 mile...Woot!..I'm hoping for just one day like that this winter...

I'm about 30miles north of you in McKinney, TX. The colder the temps, the better the HP!!!!!!!!!! Take 75 north to 455, go east till you hit 35 and go back home, it's a fun little run through Pilot Point.

i know what ya mean, mine is like a totally diff animal in the cold. the engine is way more responsive and crisp. it will break the tires loose at will in 1,2 and 3rd in cool weather. in the heat its just 1 and 2nd.

Denser air = more HP, all else being equal. That's a given. However... with computerized controls for the fuel delivery it's not that simple. One point: the air temperature compensation circuitry in the MAF (if you Have a MAF...). My aftermarket "adjustable" MAF needs to be tweaked for the annual climate change here in New England (50° isn't Cold, negative 50° would be Cold!!) between summer and winter; the setting that runs the best in warm weather idles like crap when the thermometer drops into the 30's or lower. Set it so it's happy with that and it'll run lousy when the temps (finally) get back up into the 70's. The OEM MAF didn't display this problem - at least not to the same extent. Doesn't mean it was ever "right", of course...
