SYS Warning Light
Today was a great day in New England so I thought I would take my '94 vert out for probably one last ride before winter. It's been in the garage and I hadn't started it for about 3 weeks. It stared right up and I proceeded to take out for a ride. After I had driven it for about 8 miles I happen to notice my amp gauge i.e. the digital one. It was reading 14.5. It usually runs between 14.1 and 14.5 so it didn't bother me until I noticed that the 14.5 had changed to SYS and it was flashing. It seemed that everytime I let off on the gas SYS would come back and flash but then it would switch back to a digital reading. I stopped and got some gas and after that I didn't see the SYS warning again. However my reading would go down to 14.3 and then back up to 14.5 and then down to 14.4 and then back to 14.5. this went on for awhile. When I finally got back to my garage it read 14.2 and then while it was idling in my garage it went to 14.1 and the SYS warning light never came back on. I'm thinking that a little dampness interfered with my electrical system and thats why the SYS warning light came on and after the engine comp got warmed up it must've dried it out and the warning light went out. Has anyone had their SYS warning light come on like that and then go out? Or could this be a warning of electrical problems to come? Appreciate any info anyone has.
I drove the car abour 5 miles to get gas. When I restarted the car, no SYS light. My experience is that if it flashes it will keep doing it until you turn off the car and restart it. It must be related to the battery level when you start.
I am sure that there are many other reasons for this warning light but everytime I get it it seems to be battery related. I hope that is what it is in your case.

Thats what I was going to guess.
