Default LOW COOLANT LEVEL Dash light

I have 1993 LT1, when I turn the key on (but not start) all the lights turn on the Information Center light up except for the “Low Coolant Level” The light bulb is ok. I looked for a sender unit thinking it would be on the coolant reservoir tank but found nothing. I bought the car used. I looked in my owner’s manual and it shows the light on the dash. My only thoughts are maybe only the ZR-1’s have that feature.

no, all C4's (I think) have that feature in one shape or form or another.

The sensor is underneith the surge tank. That's the tank where the rad cap is.

I will confirm this morning if my light comes on during POST. I suspect it would NOT. It's not part of the CCM diags, I don't think...

I had replaced my water pump but was still getting a low coolant light. It turns out that the sensor in the bottom the of surge tank had gone south. Of course this sensor is part of the surge tank so I had to replace the entire unit.

Here's where I found out about it
