Default Cold Weather affecting car?

I've never driven my car in below 60 degree weather here in South Florida, and now we have this cold front (relative to SoFla, anyway) ... it's about 45 degrees in the morning, and I notice my car isn't liking it much.

The shifter seems to be a lot tighter, getting it into gears takes a little more encouragement, the clutch seems to be a little stiffer as well. This normal for a 20-30 degree drop in normal environmental temperature, or do I have another problem coming up in the future?

Normal, fluids are a little thicker when chilly. Bet you hear rattles and squeaks you never heard before as well.

Yeah, a few more rattles and squeaks, mostly from the targa top, and maybe some from the suspension down underneath somewhere...

How old is your battery? Cold weather can be a killer. Also check your tire pressures.

You oughta drive a C4 when the temp is hovering around a balmy 0 F.
The noises the car makes will scare you half to death.

In the cold everything gets tighter and some things even disappear......... My cars all seem to like the cold though after they've been warmed up a bit.

Vettes were designed to operate in all weather conditions. Here in Missouri I drive mine all winter except when it snows /freezing rain.

Default LT4 + Cold Air = FUN

My car loves cold air. My tires feel like four square blocks for the first mile or two, but after that it's good - very good.

Welcome to the real world of cold weather driving. It takes a while for everything in the car to warm up, but when it does then it will feel normal.

My FIL just called from Central Fl (Leesburg).
It's actually warmer here than there.
Upper 60's tomorrow.
Last year, 20 degrees and 4" snow. Must be Global (except for Fl) warming.

Ha!!

Also check your tire pressures.

Tires gardually lose anyway but a 30deg F drop in air temp will be seen as a noticible inflation drop too.

I had the same problem with it going into gear a little harder when it was cold. Turned out the clutch fluid was low and whenever it was cold it caused the fluid level to decrease just enough to make shifting hard. Filled it up and it fixed the problem.
