I've got the go ahead to purchase some new rims and tires on monday since my b-day is Dec. 1st . Im not to knowledgable about tire and rim size so please bear with me... i currently have 17 9.5's all the way around with 255's on front and 285's on back. My question is should i go with 17' 9.5's all the way around or 17's with 265(?)s up front and 18 9.5's with 305(?)'s in the back? anyone have a pic of this set up? if so could you post it and let me know the tire size as well? or give any suggestions to the size tires I should put on them? Im leaning torwards the 17 in front and 18 in back.... BTW they would be going on a 95 convertible. I can usually find any info i need by searching previous threads but this is a major purchase for me and wanted to get suggestions AND pictures specific to my needs. Thanks,

Brian.

The most common staggered combo on C4 gen seems to be the ZR1 wheels with 17x9.5" in front with 275/40ZR17 tires and 17x11" in back with 315/35ZR17 tires.

Check out TomzWheels, they are a supporting vendor and they seem to have satisfied customers here on the forum. I have AFS wheels and they've been great to me, but some people have had complaints from them.

Good Luck,

I purchased my wheels from http://budnik.com/ and they were very helpful when trying to get the correct size and fit. Give them a call, tell them what you want to do and I'm sure they will be able to answer all of your questions.

Congratulations on your upcoming birthday. I believe that day is very special as it happens to also be my birthday.

If they are the stock 95 wheels, they're probably 17x8.5 in the fronts. The 17x10.5 ZR-1/GS wheels stick out about 1/2 inch in the back of a convertable. The regular size C-5 wheels shoud fit with no problem.I think it all depends upon what style wheels you want to buy. Performance-wise, I don't think you'll notice much difference unless you're auto-crossing.

Actually many 95s came with 9.5" on all 4 corners just like mine did because of tne Z07 or FX3 options.

You may actually find a handling improvement by going to the 8.5" wide wheels in the front if you do a lot of hiway driving.

Thanks guys. Im getting a set of chrome C6 Z-06 wheels from OE off of ebay i would love to go with a supporting vendor but OE is in Sarasota which is about an hour from where i live and i am hoping i can save on shipping by picking them up. Im not looking for any kind of performance gains or anything i dont drag race or auto x i just dont feel like the chrome sawblades 17 9x5 with 255 in front and 285 in back i currently have fill up the wheel wells enough... dont get me wrong i dont want the sticking 2 inches out further then the fenders but i do want them to fill them... What is the widest tire that can safely fit on a 17 9.5 and 18 9.5 rim that could meet the goal im trying to accomplish? or will anything that is a 9.5 not fill the bill? Thanks....

The GS offset for the 17X11 rims is 50mm. This will support a 315 35 17 tire and just if barely stick out. I went with 4 17X 9.5 rims with 285 40 17s on all four corners to be able to rotate. You could also put the 275 size as well. I don't know how this will exactly translate to 18 inch size rims.
BTW I went to pick mine up form OE and they charge $60 to pick them up at their door. Everyone who I have talked with that has picked up rims there was charged this, so don't be surprised.
