The drivers side power window is stuck in the down position on my wifes 92 vette. Any advice on how to determine if its the motor or the switch? I dont hear any clicking when trying to put the window up. Is this a do-it-yourself project? I am not sure how difficult this is to repair. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Try pulling the switch out and use a jumper wire on the connector to see if the motor works. Or just switch the wires with the ones for the other window and use the switch for the drivers window.

My first instinct would be to grab the top of the window and pull up while pressing the switch - thinking maybe the window is stuck. I don't know if you can grab the window or not. Hope you have a garage and she doesn't need the car in the morning.

Thanks for all the help, great ideas! If you have the procedures to replace the motor or know the link to the procedures I would greatly appreciate it. Mike

Mine stuck some time ago. I did what you did, pull up at the top of the window.

I swapped-out the switches on my '88 to discover that I did in fact have a bad switch on the driver's door. Makes sense that it would wear out first, since it gets way more use than the passenger window.
My passenger window does this when it goes all the way down. What happens is the glass "gets caught" and can't come up, so I carry a long skinny screwdriver, push the glass in a bit while raising the button and it goes up. I also try and avoid putting that window down all the way.

I've replaced the either regulator in the Vette window which wasn't very difficult once you figure out how to work it out through the small access hole.
I recently replaced only the power window motors in the IROC and it was a little more "fun" as I had to drill and bolt the regulator gear its frame to keep the spring from suddenly becoming "active" when I removed the motor and it's drive gear.
When I have to service the power window in the other Vette door I'll seriously consider replacing just the motor.
In either case you will need to remove the regulator from the door. I had run the window about 1/2 way open and blocked it with rubber door stops before releasing the regulator from the bottom of the window. Then I could unbolt and unplug the regulator and work it out through the opening in the lower rear of the door.
