sporatic starting
I have an 84 that will start and run 9 times out of ten, then it will crank but not fire. I can wait anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours before it will start again. I have changed distributor, wires, alternator, starter. Any ideas??/ Thanks

When this occurs, does it happen only after the engine was ran and been shut off for about 15-30 minutes?
If this is the case, it may be flooding after shutdown. Next time it happens, hold the throttle to the floor and crank it a few times(this will disable the injectors and unflood the motor if its flooded), then try starting it normally. The fix for this problem is to clean or replace the fuel injectors.
Before anyone says otherwise, the problem is NOT related to the anti-theft system, and your car doesn't have VATS either.
