86 Digital Cluster Problem
i own an 86E corvette. Now the digital cluster has been acting funny for the last year or so (ever since i brought back onto the road) Sometimes when i start the car up, all the digital readouts arent working correctly (not brighten up, very very dim almost black) Also at night time while iam driving the all the digital cluster guages/lights will shut off randomly and cant read anything! Most of the time when i drive it to work in the morning time, all the lights will be working perfect (digital is bright) But around in the late afternoon when i bring it home none of it is working then.. Now do you guys think its a bulb issue (IIRC #883 bulbs (4)??) Or you think its a wire problem or the whole cluster itself needs to be sent out? When all the digi lights shut off, its everything (not one side is working fine, and the other isnt working) Im no mechanic, but some info will be good. Thanks
I need to do some more things for it b4 the spring time.
Print out the procedure found on that website, then follow it to the letter. This should do the trick!

Grounding is usually the problem. I had the same problem took the dash apart and cleaned everything including the contacts then put everything back together and the all is well.
The good (or is that bad?) news is I know more about our digital dash than any human ought to!
