I've been thinking about repainting my dash. I replaced a couple of those parts a few years back with new GM pieces, and they had a completely different kind of finish on them, so my dash is mismatched...

Mate i have seen the stuff in a few catalogues over the years, at the moment i cant remember the actual name of it, but if no one else has come through with the info, ill dig out a catalogue and see if i can track it down for ya.
Yep, very expensive to convert to right hand drive, its about $24,000 AUD to convert a 90-96 C4, and i think its $14,300 for an 84-89. Takes at least 4 weeks, and as long as 6 weeks to do.
That is really something when you think about everything that needs to be changed out. Does GM make the parts involved?
No mate, GM doesnt make any of the parts as far as i know, you cant even buy them from GM. The companies that convert these cars to right hand drive make all the parts themselves. The dash parts are mostly made of fibreglass, and the other parts are normally made from equal or better quality materials. (i say normally cause there is a few people out there that do rubish conversions, although its getting harder for these people to pass, they are still around!!)

Well, it isn't very hard to use better materials than GM uses...
Thanks for the pics! It's a little disorienting looking at your dash which is backwards but not a mirror image...
If you happen to run across a listing for Dulso post it up. I've never really looked hard for it, but I've kept an eye out for a few years and never run across it.
Yeah they call the conversion a "mirror" conversion cause all on the left goes to the right and vise versa, more so then cause of the layout of the dash, the light switch and the trip computer buttons stay on the same sides of the steering wheel, the top dash pad is very simular, but not quite the same. The door panels are abit different too (for obvious reasons).
Mate i had a feeling the Dulso product was a "Dynagrip" product, im not sure though, havent had a chance to look it up yet.
