I've notice on some Callaway Corvettes, both in person and in pictures in magazines, that they have what I will call "Teardrops" on the hood in place of where the emblem used to be. I think they are really neat, but can't find any place that sells them. I even sent an email to Callaway, and they said they didn't have any extras but if I bought their $7,300 body kit, it would come with two of them.
Anyone out there know of another, more economical source?

BTW, they said that they also kept some on hand for existing owners who might need to buy replacements. So, is there a Callaway owner out there that would order two replacements and then sell them to me? ;)

Yes, they put one over each hole. When I first saw them I thought that they might provide some sort of aerodynamic air flow to keep the windshield clean or something. So I ask the owner of the car and he said that they were just there to fill the holes after taking the emblem off.
I don't have any pictures to post, but in this month's Corvette Fever they have an article about a guy down south with a bunch of 'Vettes and he has two of them with the teardrops. One is a green Callaway and the other is a red roadster that has Callaway parts as well as parts from other "tuners". There's a picture of 4 of his 'Vettes together and you can really see a difference between having the original emblem or having the teardrops on the nose. I like the looks of the nose with the teardrops. There are also close ups of the individual noses with the teardrops.
I feel like a real horses butt. I wanted a different look and NO emblems. Well.. I had mine filled(bad mistake) and you can see the holes/body work starting to shrink. I didn't do enough research apparently and could have left the holes there and just put the teardrops in(Hindsight 20/20). I still might do this...or pop the emblems back on. I can't take seeing the holes coming through the paint. There is a place that's tight with Callaway in Branford. It's called The Final Finish. They do all of Callaways Body Work. Their work is ...in a word"AWESOME". You might want to look in to them...maybe they can provide the teardrops for you...OR Callaway95 can set you up with some. He's got a nice Black '95. http://www.thefinalfinish.com
I talked with Dave at The Final Finish and he said that the teardrops were a Callaway only item and that even if he had some he could not sell them to me. It would break his contract with Callaway. He believes that the actual producer of the teardrops has a similar contract, that he makes them just for Callaway and will not sell to anyone else.
So I guess my options are, that I need to find a present Callaway owner who would buy some from Callawy, and re-sell them to me ;), or see if there is anything similar out there. Anyone know of anything similar, that looks good?
