Why do you drive/own C4
In my case I have had 3 vettes 2c4's and 1c5 the first c4 I sold due to electrical gremlins (it was my DD) the C5 I just didn't like shure the car was more powerful that the stock c4 and probably handled better to but from the drivers seat I couldn't tell I did not like the soft ride of the C5 just personal preferance. Ideally I would own a 58-60 but since I can't afford one now I probably will never own one. I just like the C1 for the look
In short I own c4 because I don't like C5,3 and cant afford C1,2,6

I own my vette because I'm 19 and its nice to know that I paid for my own vette. I like how it feels like a cross between the older big block muscle cars and a exotic super handling sports car. That sounds confusing but maybe yall will understand it. Plus I'm in college and girls love vettes.

I own a C4 because it's just a blast to drive. It's paid for and I'm not really into new cars (my truck is 17 years old and I want to add a 96 impalla SS to the stable). I eventually want to add in a C5 vert for a daily driver. I can drive with top down a solid 80% of the time, but it's only a 10 minute drive to work and not worth removing the top where a C5 vert would be nice and easy. I just don't have room right now for another car, plus I'm about to get married. In three to four years I hope to have my truck, C4 as an autocross/road race car, the impalla for cruising with friends and possibly be hauling around a kid, and the C5 vert for my work car.

When I began looking at Vettes in 2000 it was between the flair of the C3 and the hi-tech of the C4.
What sold me was simply sliding into the seat of an '89 and looking around the "cockpit"...
The nice thing about the L98 C4 is that a few mods can have it running with the C5s at a lot lower cost and still have the custom fit interior of the C4.

best bang for the buck sports car out there is what started it.
i wanted a nice car for summer use and my prefs (original muscle) were priced right about the same as my 92 coupe and aren't half the car in reality.
i'm still amazed at the price point you can find clean c4's for in certain areas of the world.
you simply cannot beat em for the money they can be had for.
plus-that same price point might be low for what you get, but it doesnt really drop much if you treat them right.
i could sell mine for what i paid for it and ive had it for a few years and 20k miles.
and how bout the support? you can find any information you need or any part you can think of for a c4 vette.
actually, its not why you own one,its why the heck wouldnt you own one!

Go out to the garage, open the door, your first glimpse of her makes the heart beat faster. So sexy, so low, so sweet.

Probably because my dad had one....a blue 85 that I just loved to borrow. I'm on my fourth C4 now. I'm just drawn to this style, although I like 'em all.

It's paid for.
I love the styling - sorta like an American version of a 308 Ferrari.
I find it easy and enjoyable to work on.
The clamshell hood is awesome.
The targa top is much cooler than T-tops IMHO.
Lots of performance for little money.
An all around cool looking, fun car to drive with comparable performance cannot be had for less money!

Well, I have owned a C2 (1965 coupe), a C3, (1970 BB coupe) and two C4's. Lets face it, the newer the car, the better, in most cases; the C5 is the exception to the rule. I did not really like the C5 I drove, and instead bought my current car, a 1990. I was able to keep my DD, a 2000 Toyota. making the Vette a "toy".
To me, this is the best way to own a Corvette

I love my 89 because I always wanted a convertable and it's a blast to drive. (not as pretty as my C-3). My Wife is from the 80's as She'd say She love's Her 84 because it's from Her "era". And because it's so damn fun to drive. Mostly though I think She love's the Hood.

Originally, because it was all I could afford.
Now, the clamshell hood, it's a blast to drive, and with a few relatively inexpensive mods I'll be able to run with a stock C-5.
Also it's one cool looking Vette!

I love all Vettes, the C5 included. The only thing that makes a Vette ugly is if an a**hole is driving it. I purchsed my 1990 Vert because it was affordable ane the most bang for the buck! I started out looking for a 1978 Pace Car - the first Vette I ever fell in love with as a teeneager. But the affordability, handling and dependability of the C4 was a good blend.

I hardly use the one I have (<1K miles/yr), so I'm fine with the amount of $$ I have in it to let it sit 5 months of the year in storage.
