1)My seat is pretty torn up and I would like to buy a new cover for it. Not a seat cover but the actual new leather cover for the seat but keeping the old foam. I would like to know where would I find the best combination of price and quality when it comes to this. I have a 93 with gray leather.
2) I'm pretty sure my seats are standard. They do not have any buttons on the seat itself. Can someone help me confirm the type of seat my 93 has.
I am in the same situation for my 90 (sport). Look at the usual suspects like Ecklers, MidAmerica, Corvette Central. I would also look at http://www.alknochinteriors.com/welcome.htm
I currently have seat covers on foam on order from Al Knock.
They are having a sale (so they say) and are considerably cheaper than everybody else that I checked for a leather seat on foam.
I also thought that I would only need covers until I rotated the seats (recommended in this forum they pop out real easy) and saw that the foam was starting to fall apart.
You might check out the condition of your foam as well before deciding on which way to go.
try forum vendor willcox. he sells corvette america seats coverings - quality stuff. you can get just the covers to install over your old foam, or get mounted covers over new foam. you can go thru the forum, or ebay.
I replaced my old worn light Grey with new black from Corvette America. I got the ones with the new foam, it was right around $1200. I didn't want to chance new leather and have the foam disinegrate.

I recovered my '85 seats with new covers. I did the work myself. As I slipped the new covers over the old foam I noticed there were some loose spots. It seems the foam either shrank a little or the covers were just slightly oversized. I might not have had a problem with new foam. I didn't want to replace my original foam. I went to a upholstery supplier and bought some foam they recommended. I cut and trimmed pieces to increase the padding and glued it on with spray adhesive. If you have a round edge like a side bolster, it's a good idea to shave it down to blend into the exiting foam. If you don't do this, you may find that over time the hard edge of the foam is visible. Mine came out great and the added foam filled in the looser spots. The early seats are pretty easy to increase the padding on because the foam on the seat bottoms and backs are in rectangular sections. Adding a 1/2" of foam made a big difference. When assembling and attaching the hardware for the seat backs and bottoms and the hog rings around the perimeter, the cover compresses the foam and fills in the voids nicely.

I did leather seat covers about 5 years ago. Got them on ebay for about 500 plus change. I had a pro put them on with the existing foam. They have held up just fine.
I did my own seats on my 72. Saved the foam and installed new leather covers. Took me a few afternoons in the winter but came out fine. My frames were shot so I replaced the bottoms at the same time.
