ru serious... he has a V6 Rustang.... You will pound his a$$ rellentlessly hands down dont even waste your gas. Tell your buddy if he was such a wuss and if he would have at least manned up and bought a GT then you would have raced him but since he bought an underpowed bloated pig of a car you have nothing to prove.
i wonder if i mod my V6 mercedes, would that win against a stock L98
A guy I know has a factory supercharged V6 mid 90's 4 door Buick that runs mid 12's...That'll beat most modded L98's, and his Grandmom can still take it to bingo/church on Sunday, lol....
You will leave him easily. My 4wd Yukon will would eat his lunch. Maybe not with a trailer though.......................
I just don't understand why people keep trying to campare a Mustang or Camaro to a Vette. Mustangs and Camaros are not sports cars. They are nice (I have always preferred the Camaro to the Mustang, but to each his own), but are made for a different purpose. It's like comparing apples to oranges. I have owned a couple of Camaros and a couple of Vettes. I would never even think of a comparison as they are different as night and day even if they might share a few parts off of the shelf.
Take pride in your Vette and don't let a little jealosy on the other part get you into trouble. You have nothing to prove to him. Just nod, smile, and be on your way in your Vette.
Look at it this way, which car weighs more? Even with the V6 the stang has gotta weigh more(don't know the curb weight off the top of my head)
Unless he's pushing 300 hp out of that thing (and he isn't with just those mods) he doesn't stand a chance, but as mentioned. Go to the track and whoop up on him and come back and celebrate.

Tell him to put $500 on it, then race him. His confidence will go away quick. If not, you'll have enough for some free tires.
This armchair racing crap happens all the time. At the strip though, those guys are usually nowhere to be found. I say race anyone who challenges you (at the track).

I have an 01 V6 Mustang (DD), base HP is 190. Any light mods aint taking that V6 over 200. My old 88 (L98) dyno'd at 214 RWHP. Unless you mess up the launch you got him.
Didn't see he had the Automatic - It will be a walk in the park. Meet him at the local strip and show him your taillights.

As a reformed street racer, let me tell you this kind of stuff has always gone on... The solution is always the same.
When the guy starts talking smack, just tell him you've got $100 that says different and to put up or shut up, (preferably in front of friends and/or girlfriend). Further, inform this guy that you race at the local dragstrip (if one's available), no "30 mph roll-on" BS or nonsense like that on the street.
