Default Heating up

My 1996 vert has been running hotter than normal. It never overheated. Thinking it might be the thermostat, I had the system flushed and the stat changed. The mechanic noticed that the coolants had been mixed - pink and green. He flushed the system several times and removed and cleaned all the hoses. It's a better. By the gauge, it'll heat up to ~235 then the fans kick in and stay on till 210. Is this normal???? or should I still be concerned given the cause????
Thanks
Bob

What kind of driving do you do city or highway? For city driving that is not out of the realm of possibility. What temp was the car running at originally before it was running at 210/235?

This is when it is idling in the garage. On the road it stays around 210.

Our cars are made to run hot for emissions. Fans are suppose to kick on at 235. You can have it programmed to kick on at 190 and get a 160 theremostat. You can also get a manual fan switch to override it and turn it on as you want too.

Check for debris in front of the radiator. All kinds of crap can collect there and block important air flow. Every time I look I seem to find a piece of cardboard or a bunch of leaves blocking flow. Cleaning them has had a visible impact on operating temps.
