Mine shakes. I've posted about this before also. Bugs the hell out of me. I've looked things over pretty close and looked at everthing the other members advised but have not gotten any results. My car is a convertible and I am beginning to think that the cars rigidity might have something to do with it. Maybe the hoods on the coups don't shack as much because the car is stiffer.
I have 4 C4's - 1987 - 1989. Only one of them had a "shaking" hood. I fixed it by adjusting the hood so that it latches properly/easily without a lot of force (no binding at the latches), and then made sure that the rubber stops/bumpers at the trailing edge of the hood were adjusted properly. This took care of the shaking on that problem car.
Hell yes mine shakes. The back corner over the battery shakes like hell and it annoys me. I have adjusted the rubber bumer out as far as it will go and it is not far enough to contact the hood to stop it from shaking. A buddy of mine that used to have a C4 said his shook like that also.
I thought they all shook like that. After reading this thread I am wondering why some don't shake. I wonder what the difference is.

My 94 shakes, vibrates, and makes a lot of noise, specially on a rough surface.
I am in the process of adjusting a little bit at a time.
So far the latch works great, without effort. Problem is that is rattles more!
I lubricated my hood latches and got them working freeley and then the hood started to rattle on the drivers side. I adjusted the stop to correct the rattle. but the whole clamshell sort of does the shimmy when I go over bumps
