Knowing that the 84 C4 won the motor trend car of the year, does anyone have, or know about the decal sticker that came on the back window on the 84's. If so, how can I get a replacement?
I'll give him a shout and see if he can do it. Will probably be after the holidays, but I'll let you know. I'm gonna take a hi resolution pic of the decal and see if he can duplicate it from that. I'd kinda like to have a spare as well in case I ever have to replace the rear glass..
My room mate in college had an 86 and he let me drive it often
That car was far above anything else at the time
The later GT copied the front end and the quadrashock rear suspension
What a hoot to see what they thought was cool 22+ years ago!
Note the Fiero in the lower right corner. I still think they're cool. I've had 3 of them... still own two of them....a white 86 GT fastback and an 88 coupe with V8 /4T60E ( done by yours truly) that looks bone stock. The V8 Fiero surprises a lot of sports/muscle cars. They never see it coming...they do, however, see it going.
I'm getting a lot of requests for this thing....didn't know so many folks would want one. Guess I got lucky my '84 still had it when I bought the car 10 years ago.
After the holidays are over and everything settles down a bit, I'll stop by and see my bud at Amigo Signs & Graphics and talk to him about reproducing the decals. I'd mentioned it in passing a few months ago that, to my knowledge, they were never available after the cars left the factory, and that I wouldn't mind having a couple of spares in case my rear window ever gets broken.
I'm thinking a static cling decal that can easily be attached (and removed for cleaning) would be the way to go, as opposed to an adhesive decal. I'll try to get a good hi resolution .jpg pic for him to work with and see how close he can get to the original. If they aren't too pricey, I'll have him make a run of them and pass them on at my cost + the stamp to mail it.
I've got the 1984 COTY Motor Trend issue as well as the 1983 Road&Track issue introducing the all new world class Corvette, even still have the poster it had inside!

I dig the little guys too, but I HATE working on them.
I'd like to ride in that V8 sometime, sounds nasty!
Ive got a mate over here with an 84 that his brother bought brand new in march or april of 1983, its got a heap of things different that ive read about in VETTE magazine that only the first few hundred 84s had, its the only car ive ever seen with any of these parts. His doesnt have the sticker but it did have very dark tint on the rear window that had to be removed over here.
