Default PKE not working

I had cleaned and put the mauel locking slide back into the door panel and had tested it several times to make sure it was not hanging up, when I finished and walked away from the car the PKE would not arm. I walked up to the car and hit the button to unlock the passengers side and it worked, as well as the rear glass release. So I got in than started it up only to see a message to "service engine soon". Where should I start? I have checked the fuses and they are okay.

Sounds like the PKE has been turned "off". Hold down the door button until the door locks cycle, about 5 secs or so. You shud hear a distinct click.

As relates to the SES light. Do you know how to pull codes using the cars computer. If not, try this site.

I held down on the drivers side door lock and nothing happened. As for the SES light, do I still a paper click into the A and B slots and then watch for the flashing lights? as I understand there will be three 1 flash pause and 2 flashes then it will start flashing the codes.
As for the PKE can I just reprogram the FOB like it was new?

Well I tried reprogramming my FOB. It isn't fixing the problem. It appears that I have shut off the PKE. Can anyone give me some things to try that will turn it back on.

Sit in the car and hold the fob door unlock button down, the doors should cycle "lock-unlock" That is how you turn it on or off. If the key is in the ignition and you hold the button down you cycle between both doors and drivers only.
