This is on a '96 car. I'm in the middle of unplugging my CAGS and stuffing a 2.2k Ohm resistor in the connector to trick it into not throwing a code. I'm looking under my car at my ZF-6 and I see not one but two little blue connectors going into the transmission on the driver's side. One of them is near the clutch bellhousing and way up high almost out of reach. The other is farther back, lower, and the wires feed into some metallic cylinder that juts out of the transmission. It's up to you all which connector I unplug.
one is CAGS one is for reverse lockout. cant remeber wich one is wich although my 93 dosn't have reverse lockout (manual reverse lock)
THAT is something I definitely don't want to unplug. I'd hate to think of the noise slamming into reverse would make. Anyone else have any idea which one is which?
Just behind the clutch bellhousing? Only one of them is immediately behind it, the other is farther back... but the one close to the clutch is way up inside the car.
The other one is for the backup lights. The reverse lockout is not electric.
Welp, I just checked my backup lights and they still work so I guess I got the right connector. Drove it around 3 blocks and it didn't lock me out of 2nd gear once, that's a good sign. The one to four light never even came on, hopefully that's because the resistor tricked it and not because the conditions were just not right to activate one-to-four. I'll find out as I drive it more.
Where did you find that avatar? That is hilarious .
A magical place called the Awful Forums, where people who are not deemed funny or interesting are banned on the spot and out ten bucks. 80,000+ members and quite a rollercoaster of a history behind it. They have a general car forum that is pretty high quality, and the posters there recommended corvetteforum to me.
No CAGS is going to rock. CAGS was the reason I was always pissed off the entire time I drove my vette; I hope it's gone for good.

I have the MAM CAGS eliminator w/ the resistor installed on mine.
The 1-to-4 light still comes on.
Regardless, it sounds like you found the right connection to unplug....

Great move disabling the CAGS. I was glad I did mine. Not to disappoint you, but the 1 to 4 light is activated my temperature. If you reach operating temperature you will see the light (at least I did on my '91). I think the CAGS in general was disabled for a cold car - only until it reached operating temperature. You won't even notice it! Second gear is great too - good to be able to shift as you know you should. You can always use 4th gear for mileage now that you know you can.
