PF 52 Filter???

Does anyone know if the PF52 filter is a sutable substitute for the PF 51 for the LT1?

My 1996 owners manual lists the PF52 as the recommended filter.

Thanks, appreciate you doing a double check for me. I kind of thought it was the correct one, or an alternate to the PF51, but wasn't 100%

Seems I remember something in the Forum that the PF52's are not being mfg'ed any longer.

I wish I could remember the filter number. I'll have to check when I get home. I picked up a filter for my LT1 at the Chevrolet dealer a while back. It was a different number than what I had been using, and I was told it was a superceded number. Fine.

Well, when I got home and drained the oil/filter, I discovered that this superceded part had a larger thread diameter than the old filter or what the motor would accept. Oops.

I'll look when I get home tonight and post up the number. I still have it.

I use the PF1218 on my LT1 in the Camaro for extra filtering, replaces the PF35. Standard was the old PF25, not sure of it's replacement No. Use the PF52 on the LT4 in the Vette, No problem finding them.

The PF51 was replaced by the PF52. I had it on both vettes and my truck, but now two trucks later, I have a different filter for it.

Was so much easier buying one grade of oil and one filter for all three vehicles.
