Has anyone bought the corvette windshield sticker that goes across the top. Its from ecklers and comes in different colors for about 30 bucks. I was debating on getting it if it looked good enough. Any experience with it?
BEFORE YOU FINALIZE YOUR SELECTION I SUGGEST YOU CHECK OUT THESE FOLKS. http://www.decalcenter.com/
A custom printed windshield decal in the font, color, wording etc you might want (with the word "CORVETTE" and just about anything else) costs about $22. Their quality is excellent and the mounting instructions are perfect. I purchased one a few years ago trying to get an exact match for the one AutoMasters had on put on the original BEAST when they delivered it to the owner. Decal Center's finished product was a better match than I ever thought possible esp the color! I don't think you can beat their prices anywhere. Here's a picture of the original and my replacement (I added the "LT5" and rearranged the layout and some of the font sizes)
How easy was it to install? Is it visable thru or does it block out the sun rays? Did you get it from ecklers? Any special tools or skills? Pics?
Very easy to install (otherwise I couldn't have done it). I am able to wrench on an engine but no good at artsy craftsy stuff. Blocks the sun where the letters are but you'll never notice it because it is way up on the windshield in the tinted area. I did get it from ecklers but that was over 3 years ago and I haven't checked to see if they are selling the same unit now or not. No special tools or skills other than the tool they include or a credit card if they don't include one. Anything to smooth the letters out and get all the air out from under them. Following pic is on a C-5 but I did the same on my C-4 but with black letters. They didn't show up from 5 feet away so I took them off of the C-5 and never got white letters to replace them yet.
A quick note of free professional advice. Check your local laws on window tinting prior to installing one of these. The reason is that in some states, South Carolina being one of them, you cannot go below the AS1 line on the windshield and if the windshield does not have a AS1 line, which would be the case on some aftermarket replacement windshields you cannot have any tint or the like on the front windshield. Just a word to the wise to keep from atracting the local fuzzz. Have a Merry Christmas adn Happy New Year.

If your a real cop lemme ask you this. I am planning on getting limo tint soon. Do you personall think I will get bashed by the cops. Alot of people here have illegal tint....illegal exaust....illegal lights....ect.....
In the great scheme of things most cops are not out their "looking" for these things, but it is a lawful reason to pull over a car so if a cop wants to pull you over their is his reason, he needs nothing else. Believe me when I tell you I have bigger and more important things to do with my time than pull over cars for "minor" violations. Here in SC you cannot have more than 27% tint anywhere forward of the front seat area, which means the back can be tinted. But you also have to have a sticker in the bottom right part of each window that is tinted which displays the % of tint on that window, if that is not their than not only can the driver be cited but if installed by a window tinting place they can be cited. With that being said, IMO what are your chances of being pulled over for that, slim. My suggestion was based on the fact that it might be a good idea to know what you are up against. When people ask I always tell them, with the amount of laws on the books their is not a car out their on the road that I cannot get into, lawfully. I have been a police officer for almost 20 years and have mellowed over the past few years, but young rookies just out of the academy tend to go looking for things like that because they are very gung ho, which in and of itself is not a major problem, but you tend to focus on the more important things the longer you have been in this job. Oh also the reason we cops do not like window tint on the front window is because it is a officer safety issue, because what you can't see will kill you.

In N.C., we are allowed to have stickers atop the windshield and legal tint is 35%. Ill roll down my window if I get pulled.... Stupid rookies.
I had one on there. It was easy to apply and didn't look too bad. I've since purchased a Big Mouth Airdam though and had the corvette decal on that. Looks much better imho, Al
I thought I was the only one. Felt kind of stupid. I was like yea thanks....I have corvette in chrome letters on the back....It was very visable....All flag emblems were on....two COUNT EM TWO seats....Had my spec plate inside which said corvette...Camaro is the baby brother of the corvette though and the cousine of the Firebird...So I can semi see a resemblance but.....FORD=F***ed On Race Day....
