Leather console lid.
All,
Has anyone recovered his own console lid?
I'm thinking of buying some vat dyed lambskin at Tandy or buying a leather jacket at a goodwill and covering it in black leather.
Any tips?

I've wrapped a few C4 lids in leather and it's not that hard. I used glue, staples and I left the stock cover in place for the cushion.
I just bought a cover from Redline goods and it looks really nice.

Here's mine that I did this past summer:
Need to rough up the old vinyl cover so the glue will stick. It was a rather tedius job, with a lot of small cutting and folding. I started by gluing the leather to the top and down the sides. Let that set up a while then wrapped it up and under with more glue. Used a ton of clothes pins to hold it while the glue set. After that was set I then went to the corners and nipping and tucking.
I used Elmers Rubber Cement which seemed to work well.

I just purchased one from Corvette America's website. I ahe a 1990 Vert with Saddle interior. Although my factory console lid is black, I bought a Saddle colored cover to put over it. I hope that it comes out loking nice. There's nothing wrong with my fractory cover, I just wanted to protect it from my elbow. We'll see.
