High Flow Cat/exhaust question
Got my new Magnaflow catback system in today. While I am at it, Should I put in a high flow cat? Does it have a decent effect on performance or are there any negative effects on the O2/emission system?

Hi flow cat doesn't serve much in the performance range (3-5) or atleast not noticable. If you still have the original cat, I would go ahead and do it. It's better than going no cat at all.

I put on a Magnaflow Hi-Flow main cat. I got a little more sound and about 1 MPG increase in gas milage. I wish I had done the cat-back at the same time.

I replaced my test pipe with a Magnaflow cat. SOTP comparison; no difference from the test pipe. Track times are equivalent as well.
Best $127 I spent yet.

The key here is knowing the year of the car in question... his is a 1991.
This is what I would do: Remove the precats, replace the center cat with a high flow unit. That will pick up 20hp...

Definately a little more sound at WOT, no highway resonance to speak of.
Who knows if I have more HP.
