It's been driving me crazy and I can see to find it and it seems to be getting worse. It's coming from the driver's side near the firewall in the upper left side. I don't think it's the hood though. I've played with it quite a bit so I'm pretty sure of that. A few weeks ago, I had to hit a moderate bump for it to make any noise but now any little bump or small pot hole will set it off. I have messed with everything under there I can think of. Is there someone out there that has had this problem?
I did. It sounds like it's right on the other side of the firewall just above the battery or in that general area. The shock in in there tight. It's gotten so that even if you close the door a little too hard it rattles then too.
check the door jam, sometimes the plastic piece that surounds the latch can get loose. I just put weather stripping adhesive on mine.
also check right under the door for brake lines and what not that may rattle. Theres a line that was rattling on my passanger side and I just tied it down. I think it was a fuel line or something. not really sure but check under the doors.
thats all I got.. unless its the window O.o dunno, GL!
Those are some good points. I have opened the hood and started shaking things. So far nothing is loose. The batter door is tight and everything around it is tight even the battery. This weekend, I'm putting new drilled rotors and new pad on it and while I got it up in the air, I'm going to roll up under it and look around. I'll let ya'll know what I find.
I think it's the hood latches. I'm going to play with them them weekend and see if that's it for sure. I've checked everything else so I think that's the only thing it could be. I'll let you know if that's it. Good luck with yours.
That's about the only place it rattles. It's started rattling a little in the same spot on the passanger side so I'm figuring it's the same problem on the other side of the car.
I've got the same problem...I'll be looking into it this weekend, if I find anything that might help you...I'll put out a thread that reads "Found the squeek". Please do the same, I'll be watching
Right beside the spring on the hood there's a rubber bumper. I adjusted it down about a quarter inch so that it meets the body tight when the hood is shut. It stopped the rattle and the hood doesn't vibrate any more. Adjusted the passanger side too, NO RATTLES...
